2B Class Outing

there were only my uncle and my maid at home when I got back, since both my parents are watching 投名状 now, and my sisters are watching National Treasure. Decided to blog to spend my time... and to wake myself up a little.

today was 2B's class dinner! Wasn't it a blast! With 5 people who turned up out of the usual 35 people! Yay! Btw, that's around 1.7% of our class population XD
Anyway, since such a measely number of people that comprised of Jocelyn, Zuxin, Audrey, Weiliang and I turned up, we decided to cancel the steamboat at Marina South and head toward Teo Heng instead (: Karaoke again!

We got a relatively larger room compared to the last time we went, but sadly we could only sing for 2h -_- at least it was a 2h well-spent; we resorted to stopping some of the songs once we sang the first chorus. Weiliang and Audrey did a superb job at singing superwoman together too! They totally harmonize, since Audrey's voice was also relatively low and RnB-ish, and that song was high enough for them to 开嗓子 as well. We tried singing 听海 too, and HAHA we nearly lost our voices when we reached the chorus, which was super super super high XD Jocelyn said she even had goosebumps! LOL.

Yeah, but since it was a weekend, and a bigger room, we had to pay a grand total of $28 ): it wasn't so bad after splitting it among 4 people (jocelyn didn't have to pay since she didn't sing much), but it was bad when i realised i only had $4 left for dinner -_- it was okay since we had cheap dinner at a food court in parkway parade, but ARGH, I didn't know that there was a banmian store there until i saw jocelyn eating yimian! I felt so cheated, since the banmian store was actually rather near us all along. nvm, we chatted a little: about school, cca, 2b ip people, s2 lives... and realised that we have went a long way after all.

well, that was it. mingquan couldn't join us last minute since he came from a xmas church party and was feeling rather tired and hungry + raining, so we let him off -_- after the dinner, we did some window shopping... drank bubble tea, and tata! we went home. tired but fulfilled (: At least I managed to meet few of my 2b mates after so long!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I was browsing the gallery of my handphone today, and realised that i didn't post these two pictures up. its a caterpillar on the side mirror of mr han's car.

look at that green bulb on its head!

eww!

Went to Science Centre with the trio! (as usual) Cynthia arrived later, because she didn't see the accumulated smses that Jocelyn and I jointly sent her.

We were supposed to go to Escape Theme Park today, since there was the $7 promotion up for grabs. Changed it to Science Centre instead... since we'd been to Escape before? I was hoping for a smaller crowd at the Science Centre, but nooooooo there was a huge crowd instead! I was so disappointed

Anyway, the exhibits were okay... I remembered it being more fun the last time I went with 2B though... None of them had a very lasting impression on me. "Living with Virus" exhibition caught my attention the most, since the exhibits there were certainly more appealing and updated than the others. Most importantly, I learnt more about the influenza virus (H1N1) that Edward Cullen contracted in 1901! (the year is wrong, i forgot the year and i'm not flipping the book again to find out -_-) (this is completely irrelevant) Ispace exhibition was quite cool too, especially the wall where we could send sms msgs to. We gave a welcome msg to Cynthia so she would know where to find us! There was also an exhibit where they kept little rodents and animals, and it was all kinda cute (:

how happy they look!

hey there, little gold friend.

what a beautiful cat!

jocelyn trying to run for election

a newly hatched chick! It would be better if I really saw it hatch .__.

chicks!

head on a platter

But all things have two sides to them ;some of the exhibits were really old... There was this hydroelectric power exhibit, in which we had to pump water into this tunnel thing, and maaaaaaan, the pump had moss on it -_- It stunk too la!! Disgusting. Some of the exhibits weren't working too (or maybe it was us being too impatient) They repeated some of the exhibits too... I saw the same exhibit (just that it was presented in a different way) thrice? Or maybe twice

Nevertheless, the whole visit was really fun, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if fewer people were there. And, if we weren't in such a hurry >_<

----------NEXT TOPIC--------------

OMG, I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH EDWARD CULLEN X BELLA SWAN PAIRING! I AM ADDICTED TO TWILIGHT, AND NEW MOON.

what's most important, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE PREMIERE OF TWILIGHT THE MOVIE! (but it comes out 12th November 2008, and that's DECADES AWAY)

Robert Pattinson is playing the role of Edward, and Kristen Stewart is playing the role of Bella! I have no complaints over Bella, since she is rather pretty; But it's Robert Pattinson that I have a problem with -_- I... didn't have a good impression of him in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Robert Pattinson! What do you think?

Kristen Stewart. She's pretty (:

There was this humongous moth outside my house today! Totally humongous!

My sisters, my cousins and I went to Settler's Cafe at North Bridge Road today. There were lots of games, but we only played four: Taboo, Handfirst, some game like Agatha Christie and this balancing game. It was great fun! Maybe I'll go there with my friends some other day...

IE keeps failing on me, it's getting on my nerves. I'm thinking its because the computer installed this Cumulative Security Update for IE. Anyway, it's NOT WORKING, because my internet seems to be disconnected whenever I install that update. I have to restore my computer to an earlier time to get it working again. Firefox isn't helping too, since (for some reason...) Firefox is BLOCKED on my computer...

Damn annoying. REALLY.

Fun again...

Another day which was busy, but fun nevertheless! Bonding with the Chingay leaders was awesome; Amazing Race put us in some difficult spots at times, but we solved it easily with the help of our teammates! Woah, they can certainly locate places around Singapore quickly man... And thanks to them, we managed to clinch the prize! Hurray~

Team Four rockersssssssssss!! Shiyong (leader!), soongteng, cheeri, shawn, wensheng, wang sheng and not forgetting our facilitator Minghan XD!

Team Four Rockersssss

Ahem... and there was an... INTERESTING event that took place in the male's toilet today... oh man it's totally perverted, it surpasses my standards of hentai. Omg, freakayee

I didn't go out with the others for Dinner unfortunately, but decided to meet up with my sisters and my maid instead. We ate at Kopitiam lah, cheap fare, but we bust our budget by deciding to take..

NEOPRINTS MUHAHAHAHAHA

Lots of things happened! Lots of things happened! Too many arghh... This is gonna be a long post. And I've got no pictures!! Shizer.

Shooting Club Chalet
Shooting Club Chalet was awesome. Although my body is literally a warground with countless bruises and cuts, at least I managed to learn something. Oh man, those are the biggest bruises I have ever seen.

For the first day, we had to meet up at Tanah Merah Station at 1:15pm to catch the 1:30 shuttle bus. Ailin, Jiapei, Andy and I were in time... and we chatted a little while waiting for the rest to gather. However, turns out that Cheryl, Qiaowei, Desiree and Kelly were late! Although it really isn't Desiree's fault since her 14 bus took so long to arrive, and they were at the underpass at 1:29pm but the bus uncle refused to wait for anyone LOL. In the end they still got there in time, taking a taxi. lalala.

The chalet was quaint! It was at SAFRA resort la actually... been there before since pop's a member. Jeremy, nh, yuyan and calvin were there pretty soon, and nh changed his specs I mistook him for that... chinese IP1 scholar in archery loll. Anyway, we were feeling bored, so Ailin, Cheryl, Desiree and I decided to go to Changi Beach to catch crabs! WOOHOO. That was great fun. We moved rocks and screamed whenever we saw a crab scuttling away. It was pretty difficult catching them, but I was desperate, so I started the ball rolling by grabbing a tiny crab and tossing it into the plastic bag that we got. Things got easier from then on. There were many huge crabs too! There was even one with a bright red pincer but we failed to catch it -_- We saw seasnails and seaworms and sea anemones as well. Disgusting man. Ohyeah, and we had a bet with Jeremy that we would catch crabs since he didn't believe us, but he still looked down at the crabs we caught??! RARH.

There was night cycling too, and I didn't know how to cycle ): Desiree taught me how to cycle for the first 20minutes before we set off, and after that it was up to Yuyan and Sam who supported me all the way. I'm reallyy reallyyy reallyyyy grateful to them >__< I was being very impatient while learning, since we had to report back to the chalet at some time, but we were getting late so I was desperate to learn!! After a while, I got the hang of it.. but I still wasn't confident enough, so I kept stopping. I fell down a coupla' times too -_- It was annoying. After a while there was this loooooooooong route that we had to cycle ( from chalet to Changi Village and back to East Coast ), and this time it was Jiapei who taught me! Bleh, but I'm a very impatient kiddo so I sort of complained a lot while cycling. It was really exasperating for me and I felt like I was a burden to the rest of the people, but nahh they didn't think that way and I'm thankful for it.

I'm easily distracted while cycling too, so I tend not to talk at all :S So lame man. But yeah there were many times when I crashed while cycling, LOL like crashing into the drain -_- my hp and wallet dropped inside la!! but it wasn't so bad since the water in the drain was shallow. I think that's the reason for my bruises. -_-

After managing to reach the end, we rested for a while at Changi Village before setting off again. Unfortunately, this time we had to cycle in the rain and I wasn't confident of cycling back .__. So Chok Kee decided to fetch me instead! And Jiapei took my bicycle along. O.o Chok kee cycles damn fast. Yeah but in all, I'm really grateful for the Shooting Club for teaching me how to cycle... Zzz, and for taking so long to pick cycling up too. Thankyou! The rest of them cycled back to east coast to return the bicycles, and they got back pretty late o_o Like at 10+?! Boy, they must be shagged, but GOOD JOB EVERYONE XD

Besides cycling, there was lots of game-cubing and Wii-ing in the chalet. Super Smash Brothers was a real popular game. Lots of people wiied too, like the boxing game, tennis and golf. LOL, it was hilarious. Besides that, I played lots of Mahjong too, and come to think of it, it's the first time I played mahjong at any chalet! Oh wow. yeah but picked up a few skills and such so it was fruitful.

Oh, and the senior's farewell video was cool too! HAHA at least the club laughed at the right scenes, and the whole video seemed even funnier with their laughter XD

I left after the first night since I couldn't stay for the second. SO yep, that about sums up the chlalet (:

Outing with Jocelyn, Zuxin and Cynthia!
The following day, I had an outing with the trio! Met at AMK hub to catch a movie. What an entertaining movie experience we had MANNNN.

It was 13 December! There were two movies that premiered on that day: Mr Magorium's Magical Emporium (whatever), and 投名状. We decided to watch the first movie, after eating our lunch at Subway.

So well, we entered the cinema. We were wondering where the advertisments went to, but nevermind we taught that we were a little late anyway. Okay, so the movie started. There was the story... the main character was dying... and the whole atmosphere was solemn... "He's taking a pretty long time to die," I thought to myself. There were some funny scenes hahaha, and finally the appearance of a character who proved promising... and finally! The main character dies. "Okay, the real plot is beginning soon," I smiled. Watching on, watching on. The promising character's potential is unleashed, and things turn to a better end...

AND THE CINEMA LIGHTS TURN ON....
AND I WAS EXPECTING SOME PERSON TO POP OUT FROM THE CURTAINS OR SOMETHING, but noooooooooooooooooooooooo....

CREDITS START ROLLING.

WAH LAU EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
I FELT DAMN CHEATED LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes I literally EXCLAIMED THAT)

The four of us were left in shock! Confusion! It was such an entertaining movie and it just ended!!! WHAT CRAP. WHAT CRAP. WHAT CRAP. WHAT CRAP...

to comfort ourselves, we came to a unanimous decision that we should watch ANOTHER MOVIE. therefore 投名状 comes to play... That movie is definitely much better than the first one, living up to the ratings and standards of the advertisements. I'm not revealing anything, but that movie was really not bad. A little too deep though, but it was an eye-opener (:

btw, we realised at the last minute that it wasn't the first movie that was short, it was US who went into the wrong theatre! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAA

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST ENTERTAINING MOVIE EXPERIENCE IN A LONG TIME.

Anw, by the time tou ming zhuang ended, it was already 5+, so we decided to eat dinner at sumo-house, this really cheap japanese shop. went on to zuxin's house later on, where we played mahjong and played daidi and played (for me, its learnt) bridge. It was great fun XDD

and there, it ended. I came back at around 11+pm, but in all, the day was highly enjoyable (;

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

There was Morning PT yesterday, and it started off with a friendly game of Captain's Ball! There was a lot of dodging and catching and monkeying around, but basically it turned out fine. Hanxiao got a chance to showcase his zai bball skills, with him snatching balls and throwing them around. But thankfully Desiree and I managed to get a goal at the last minute, even with him as the goalkeeper! xD

Okay, so I made my way to Denise's house later on. She has a new guinea pig! It's name is Missy

Ain't it cute!

Besides playing with Missy, we played other games too. Denise, Esther and Evan taught me how to play 500, a game that looks like Bridge, and yeah I was intimidated by their competitiveness. Is it just me? But there was a whole lot of shouting and scamming hur. We played Game of Life too. Evan and I were fighting over the $100,000 salary because 1) He could exchange it for 4 Life tiles 2) I could exchange it whenever double 8,9,10s were spun! Denise was frightening everyone with her sudden exclaimations of ONE!!! because she was an artist, and she would get $10,000 if one was spun. ...And Esther was practically earning big bucks, because she was a computer consultant, and whenever the spinner stops between numbers or falls off track, she gets $50,000! That's a loooooooot of money.

I lost the game well -_- Evan won it with a grand total of 3+million. Lol.

Went home after that... It was such a tiring day I just lay on the floor and slept.

Sunday, December 09, 2007

5) Learn a musical instrument
6) Learn Japanese -_-
7) Ohyeah, learn a dialect -_-
8) Experience the four seasons
9) Have a pet cat
10) To eat different kinds of sushi

In no order of merit.

This is a long post.

I went out many times this week, mostly for training, but of course I receive my fair share of fun! Sad, not enough pictures.

Tuesday
First, there was of course training. I did 10mins x 3 抱枪 and did some shooting which I wasn't to move my left hand... It was quite okay, but I realised that I shoot worse for white card. :/

Went for my Chingay interview, and I got lost halfway because I didn't know where the Heartware office was :S Decided to call Kristy but she didn't answer, so I called Minlu instead. Yeah we talked for quite a long while before my interview... then the final showdown came. The interview felt damn crap; I was being my normal self and stuff, I guess I talked too much, I don't know. Most of my answers were really gut feel, and I got posed some situational questions, which I answered in a very matter-of-fact tone, but I wasn't confident. Oh well, that's that.

Met up with Minlu later on too. We had coffee bean (: and talked about life, lots of stuff. Managed to catch up a bit on her life and a bit of mine, and talked to her about my crappy interview -_- And, her father got a Nintendo DS for FREE! Omg, first the IPOD TOUCH, now the Nintendo DS. Minlu is such a lucky kid.

Thursday
There was training as usual, and we had a mental talk on competition preparation. From the day before, to the main shots fired, every detail was covered. Dear DX even bothered to analyse the sleeping position :/ There was 5shots grouping x 8 later on, which I took a million years to complete

...and ended up meeting Ona late. We were supposed to catch the 1.45 show for Enchanted. Unfortunately for us, there was a long queue when we got there for GOLDEN COMPASS of course! Realised that 6th December is the opening day for that show. Ona didn't and couldn't watch it, since there is time for the show in the future, and she was Christian. Golden Compass is an atheist movie. Anyway, we went to Sakae to eat, and to Giant to be cheapo (and buy 94c chips :D), watched the movie which was great funny heartwarming and lol childish in some ways, and took some pics.

Friday
Okay, there was mock com on that day. I shot... 370. But what's saddening is that I didn't feel for it to be 370. It felt like a 360+, since I wasn't as serious as the NJ v CJ friendly. I couldn't find the right alignment most of the time, and was relying heavily on getting a relationship by aiming correctly. It was really uncomfortable, and I took too long too ):

anyway, Desiree and I went to meet Kristy and Huiwei at Teo Heng karaoke later. The cheap place that I went the last time! It took some time for me to find my way there (wth). We were late, but thankfully, Kristy and Huiwei managed to get their rooms in time. We took this long bus ride to Paya Lebar MRT, transferred to another bus, and showered in the rain... -_- Going out with me is always such an adventure.

Sang a looooooooooooooot, and it was satisfying! I especially loved the last song when I sang 爱失控 with Huiwei. IT FELT SO GRAND SINGING IT. Sang many other songs too, and it was great fun (:

Went to Bugis to eat later. I ate soup spoon with Kristy, and the food was delicious as usual. Ohyeah! 星光四少 were there too! So i took some pictures of lin you jia to spite xiuxian and xiulun a little... >:) Neoprints as well!~

Untitled

Saturday
this day DID NOT START OUT WELL, since I realised that... I woke up late, at 7.45am. Not so bad? I was supposed to be at Yishun MRT meeting Kristy at 7.30am. Now, that's bad.

So with impressive god-like speed, Xiu Rong brushed her teeth, changed her clothes, sprinted down the house and boarded a taxi and got to Yishun Secondary in a mere 20 minutes! And what luck, she bumped into her dear friends Amalina and Charlyn at the entrance of the school, with them welcoming her with a laughter of jest. -_-

LOL, anyway, today was supposed to be the first volunteers training session for Chingay! And I have not been a good leader indeed >_> For turning up late for the first training session. Anyway, we got dispatched to our groups, and I got US23! :D YEAH MAN WE RAWK BIG TIME. Cheryl, Caleen, Kee Sok, Ayu and Lifang (: Initially, we were pretty quiet, total strangers except for Cheryl and Caleen. So they were there to bring up the atmosphere! Anyway, the station games and all were great fun. We played wacko first, and it was a great icebreaker (: Later on, there were other games like Martial Arts showdown and dog and bone, and lastly Wargames! Yeah wargames were what we played during my IP1 orientation -_- I decided to be a mummy woohoo.

yeah, that was about it. Went out with Kristy for lunch later on, took a looooong bus ride from Yishun to Orchard lol. Then went to Topshop to look at some clothes and perhaps spend Kristy's $40 voucher unfortunately to no avail. Walked around later on... Sony, Nokia, Food Republic, World of Sports yadayada. Quite fun! but it was also tiring -_-

yes, and now I'm back home. This is a long post? Yes i think so too.

OBS! again

the pictures here are courtesy of CHOOYUN.

So fun so fun! XD 40th Anniversary for OBS was a blast, it was really great and I really enjoyed myself there with TONGKAT (Chuyun, Davina, Saniah, Shujen, Christine, Jocelyn, Eugene, Sherlene, Diana, Zichao, Matthew)

TONKAT
Tongkat! HAHAHA

Besides NJC, there were other schools participating in this event too, like Telok (K...) Primary School, RV, Jurongville and somemore. There were some Korean people there too which was kinda cool. And we saw Mauricette and Cindy too! But unfortunately they were taking care of the Primary School kids so they weren't really in the main event.

setting sai; The main activity for that day was SAILING. Eugene, Christine, Shujen, Davina, Saniah and I were in VIJAYA, which looked ahem, very new. The seats were lacquered O.o and the floor was uh, CLEAN. Very big improvement compared to when we had Semangat during our OBS trip. Oh, and the sails are white! Unlike our patchy basha material that poor Semangat had that time -_-

Zichao and Matthew setting sail...

semangat

The trial-runs for sailing were very useful. I realised that I forgot some of my stuff, so at least this refresher course could boost my memory on it. There was one time when the wind was so strong, and the main sail was like in this very blown away position that it was scary. At least it wasn't as scary as Semangat; their boat tilted till it collected water! Now, that is freaky.

Semangat looks so chio now (:

Vijaya had to prepare for the PM's visit to our boat later on, and lol, Saniah was actually feeling kinda nervous. I tried to calm her down by using the "very useful and convincing mental training that Shooting has taught us" but I don't deny that when the real man came, I was feeling a little nervous myself -_- I was supposed to teach the security guards (not 电他们) when they came in, and thankfully they caught on quick. I was ahem, quite annoyed at the media since they kept asking me to move. But nevermind, forgiveness is a virtue.

vijaya2
vijaya sailing... (with PM onboard and media in bumboat chasing)

and there was the official ceremony that we had to participate in, where we just stand and look happy and clap. it was quite boring initially, so we played the animal concentration game while standing LOLL. it was damn funny siaaa. especially the frog SHERLENE! XDD Oh yes, and there was another game that Zichao taught us too, called TONGKAT ALI. We always end up shouting whenever we play that game, therefore, we decided to name ourselves TONGKAT.

yeah and there was magnificent, very delicious, huge variety of food too. Yum.

MORE PICTURES WOOOOOOOT

Tree in Heaven

Finally finished watching Tree in Heaven yesterday! Ahhh, and it's such a moving show ): There are only 10 episodes, so its quite successful for them to accomplish such a touching show within a short period of time.

Hana is a young girl who lost her father at a young age. Her mother marries a Korean man, who eventually comes to Japan with his son Yunsuh. Yunsuh is well, autistic and doesn't talk much since he was deeply traumatised by his mother's death. However, Hana is quite fond of her dear brother and sets out to make him open up, showering him with care and kindness. Slowly, he starts to open up and finally start speaking and yeah, the whole scene is just kinda sweet.

Initially I thought this was all incest, sister-brother relationship, but the directors have a way of making this whole relationship seem very right. And very touching as well. Some scenes just make you smile and laugh to yourself, while others just set you off thinking...
I love the soundtrack of the drama too, especially 书信 sung by Jung Woo. It's not the main theme, but I think the lyrics are quite meaningful... It's the only song that deeply relates to the show. I only chanced upon the lyrics while watching the last episode. Rarhhhh..

Let me tell you my story
About the time when I didn’t have you
I feel sad that I don’t
Happy stories to tell you

Don’t feel sorry, it’s okay to cry
You’ve been holding it back enough
Close your heart, with me inside you

Don’t feel sorry, it’s okay to laugh
You’ve been holding it back enough
Close your heart, with me inside you

Close your heart, with me inside you
With you inside me

hahahahaha...

The New Paper publishes many articles, but in my opinion, most of them are just 八卦新闻 la. There is this article which is of HIGH ENTERTAINMENT VALUE that I saw in the 1 Dec 2007 New Paper.

Early Sesame Street: Not Suitable for kids?

sesame_street

"Oscar the Grouch: Too Negative
Cookie Monster: Binges on too many cookies
Bert: Has too-close relationship with male roommate Ernie?

A warning by the creators on volumes one and two of Sesame Street Old School said: "These early Sesame Street episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today's preschool children."

Characters that have come under fire

SBSP_header
Spongebob Squarepants: He's a talking sponge. Conservative church groups have criticised the character for being rather too close to his friend Patrick. They sometimes hold hands. The creators insist that he is asexual.

 c1b63f76-bbf3-4f90-b849-e0de72340235_hmedium

Barney & Friends: Is Barney just a purple, singing, anthropomorphic, cheerful dinosaur, or is he simply evil? A proliferation of spoof sites so incensed Barney's owners they sued a website for copright infringement when it called the dinosaur " the Anti-Christ". Barney lost.

teletubbies_narrowweb__300x414,0

Teletubbies: Tinky Winky, unlike Dipsy, La La and Po, is a special Teletubby. Because he is purple and carries a handbag and straight boys don't do that. Or so critics insist.

GUFFAW. HAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA. But I admire their level of analysis. I have never thought of these before.

Anyway, I'm back from Shooting Camp. Hur, despite plain Hokkien Mee, aching muscles, demoralisation and encouragement, and manifestation of negative thoughts (which means, MORE MENTAL TRAINING), at least it's fine. I believe that there are things which can be improved on though, like my mental, and my character and attitude. I was disappointed in myself many times although it seems fine to other people. I didn't meet my own expectations la.

Or maybe I'm just too serious... Whatever. Senior's Farewell video is pretty funny (:
