A little unexpected

There was once a man who always didn't meet expectations. He tried very hard, and yes, he did succeed now and then, but sooner or later, it was just back to square one. It wasn't enough.

"Why? Why do I always make the same mistakes? Time and again. I'm beginning to think that maybe this isn't worth it at all."

At this point of time, there was a voice,

"Why, it's simple. All you have to do is believe in yourself."

Out of frustration, the man shouted,

"No! I'm tired of everyone saying that. I've been believing and trying, but it always results to nothing. It just doesn't work. There's no solid proof that it does."

Calmly, the voice reasoned,

"You see, that's a sign of doubt. You've begun to doubt yourself unknowingly. If you don't give yourself a chance to believe wholeheartedly, you'll never attain what you want, and there will never be proof at all."

“Faith is expectancy. You do not receive what you want; you do not receive what you pray for, not even what you say you have faith in. You will always receive what you actually expect.” - Eric Butterworth
