Archery Invitational SEAAF at Zhenghua

Oh pooh I'm feeling quite lazy now really. Nevertheless, its been a long and fulfilling day.

i cant wait for the new downtown (??) line to be built. saves a lot of hassle: changing from east-west to north-south, then to LRT. but i dont stay at that part of singapore at all :/ oh nvm, its more convenient for the near future.

i didnt knw that cck mrt was linked to the lrt via a STAIRCASE (hidden in some secluded part or maybe im just not observant enough but who cares) so i wasted 45c on mrt fare -_- its not so bad, but it forced me to top up my card which has -10c left, sooooo i reached around 3mins late than the actual timing. how wonderful! and the lrt that i wanted to board left right before my eyessss

thankfully, the lrt came soon so i stopped pacing around the lrt station. as i boarded the lrt i saw this tooty man who was sitting opposite me. he had funny 50s specs and... just looks really toot lah. thenn i saw: wow, he has a huge red bag, and he has a matching red shirt to go with it, and oh wow look there's his badge, and it says:

SEAAF - - - - - - -

OH WOW HE'S A JUDGE

nvm,at least i didnt like, laugh in his face or something. bt ohwell, i was on the verge of sleeping on the lrt, but it being my first lone experience, my nervousness mounted eventually. i was looking at the stops and wondering why they travelled so slowly, and i heard some S- something stop, and immediately jumped out of my seat to head for the exit. (meanwhile,i was wondering why that tooty judge was staring at me)

ohh and i saw: SENJA

yeah and i finally understand how nervousness and paranoia can confuse yourself so much that you start rationalising your thoughts in a way that matches whatever you want it to be.

JUST THAT AT THAT MOMENT OF TIME, I SNAPPED OUT OF CONFUSION AND REALISED THAT THE CORRECT PLACE IS

SEGAR
SEGAR
NOOOOOOOT SENJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....

dumb lrt lines, all the stupid S-s. and at least make them sound distinctly different lah, not like, sedja-segar; must be like, novena-newton. AT LEAST THAT IS DIFFERENT. (come to think of it, yiochukang and choachukang sound the same too, but THEY'RE MILES APART SO ITS EASY TO DISTINCT THEM) but this incident reminds me of the united and novena square thing again, so bahhhhhhhhhh.

(no wonder the judge was staring)

nevertheless, the above rant wasnt the crux. THIS IS!

Qualifying round
Board 15, 3 archers: malaysian, singaporean, indonesian. Most tedious, with 60m, 50m, 40m.

The Singaporean was (of course) from the National Team and I heard he's from RJ. Can tell, from his shots, and from the look of that bow o.O and from the look of that face -_- SMUG. he didnt offend me or anything, but his face always has this kind of semi-worried-buaysong look. i know his name is Marcus, and he has fancy aqua shoes. OHYAH AND HE WALKS SO FAST. i had to practically STRIDE to catch up with him. Sam was laughing, when she herself had difficulty too! it was hilarious to see people striding in mud.

The Indonesian looked pretty young. He was from a college of some sort, and his name is Awar ?? I'm nt sure. He shoots well! But I don't like this coach because he keeps like, tagging along =/ I feel kinda bad for wrongly calculating his score though: 10 points! muahahaha. and his voice is, i think, higher than mine o.O not that mine was very high to begin with. OH! and he got into bronze finals! :D

The Malaysian was okay. I remember his blue shirt and his polite voice. and mmm.. thats all. hes pretty close to Awar. LOL. and The malaysian's name is Omar. (okay now im starting to think that i made a mistake of the indonesians name...)

Marcus and Awar were pretty good. They had a tough fight in the 40m category, by shooting the same score for 2ends. Even the individual score was the same too! Then Awar fell back by 2, and came back again by the 4th end. It ended with Marcus winning though, because Awar had three bad last shots: 8,8,8. marcus got: 9,9,9.

Elimination
Two female National Team shooters. One called Hwee Jun and the other I forgot... ): It was less stressed in this round, and Hweejun won though.

1/8th, 1/4th
Started with Elijah and Abdul! I heard that Elijah was a pretty good shooter: he got first for standard male - - ! He's Filipino, and hes only 11 too, so i reckon hes the youngest archer to be able to pull a 36pound bow.

Sadly, he lost the round to Abdul. It was a terrible start for him because due to some lack of power he missed two arrows!! They fell to the ground in front of the board =/ And yeah, because of that he lost to Abdul by 14points, but he managed to make a comeback at the 3rd and 4th end, by reducing the difference to 6points. Impressive. And his last score of 48 clearly surpassed Abdul's 39 and 40.

Then came Abdul with Pataar (indonesia). It was clear who won, since previously Pataar had a score of 103? And Abdul had 79 LOL. Pataar beat Abdul: 103-89? I think. not sure.

Gold finals
Pataar VS nicholas (singapore national team)

Tough fight. VERY TOUGH FIGHT. Pataar was leading first by 4points: 52-48.
I was walking back from scoring, and was staring at the ground to make sure i didnt step on any other soft mud. but it was morelike i wanted to avoid the eyecontact of the indonesians and the singaporean teams. But conversely, the singaporean team came to find me instead!! They were a bunch of competitive people man. i think they were starting to freak out when they realised they were losing by 4, thats why they started all the NICE SHOTS! WOOOTTTT WOOOTTT thing. -__-

Yea lah, Sinma and Alvin told me that these was normal in such events, but its really annoying lor. As in, its okay if you want to encourage your archer, but not like that what! There was a hypothesis that perhaps the people are so experienced that they can judge the quality of your shots by looking at your follow-through blalala. But this time, their screamings were literally blasted 1millisecond after the archer shot the arrow! -______- a little unrealistic.

anyway,
there was a tie between the both of them. lol, pataar seemed to be laughing crazily to himself. i dontknw why they were so happy over a tie though. maybe they were merely faking it. they had to resolve it with a single shot shootout lor. scary man.

and YES THAT ANNOYING THING HAPPENED AGAIN.
cos you see, nicholas shot faster, and by the time he finished shooting, there was this wholeeeee large AMPLIFIED version of NICESHOTS and WOOTING. Poor Pataar was still left to shoot!

and yeah, due to some stroke of luck, Nicholas managed to just cut the 9ring, and Pataar was in the 8 ring. Therefore, Nicholas won! But it was kinda sad for Pataar though since he really put up a good fight. his mental is seriously admirable.

And that basically sums up the shoot. there were a whole lot of little funny stuff that happened in between, but this post is getting kinda long so yeah. o.O oh and there were lots of mud and sun and im now a roasted lobster. and kudos to others helping out for tmr.
