One of the reasons why I hate MSN

"The former president of the United States, Lyndon Johnson, once said in a speech addressing members of the public. "The family is the cornerstone of our society. When families are broken up because of deteriorating family relationships, it is usually the child that suffers the most." Even back then in the 1960s, President Lyndon Johnson already realized that the traditional family forms the central tenet of this increasingly common sight. Many professionals attribute this worrying trend to the computer and television, inventions that would become more common in the twenty-first century. Children are virtually alienated from their families when using the computer. In many areas these children do not realise the folly of their mistaken of engaging in activities that harm them, such as pornography and the addiction to computer games. All the fawning technobabble about virtual communities save to compound the situation, as more and more youths turn to computers to communication with their friends. This form of interaction lacks the distinct human touch, eroding the social skills of many of today's youths. If this trends were to continue into the twenty-first century, many parents would not look forward to the twenty-first century, where society would be almost "robotic and emotionless".
